“Listen” is comprised of the songs Bass Ronin and I have cumulatively worked on together. I think from the first song we made, I was captivated by his unique, soothing, and beautiful production style. The lyrics started to flow naturally for me and we were able to make one song after another, each with its own unique energy.
What ended up being the message behind most of the lyrics in these songs circulates around the deep desire to take a closer look at the world – to listen to people’s stories. To listen to the reality of the struggles of other human beings, and to listen to yourself.
“Poison in my Veins” talks about being out of touch with yourself and feeling the need to reconnect with what you really need in your soul. “Grounding my Soul,” written by Noemi Capote, reminds us how to re-center and heal ourselves again. Kuu Sound

I made this collaboration with Kuu Sound after we connected on Instagram and became fans of each other’s music. She wrote and recorded her vocals over the instrumental I produced after sending her a short clip of the chorus. It’s a reflective song about breaking from attachments and making internal changes. It tells the story of a lone astronaut drifting off into space after a catastrophic event. – Typho

This track conveys the balance we aim to achieve as creators and artists- the dance we do with external responsibilities and happenings, while the yearning inside pervades, calling us to pursue our passions.

ABOUT THE COLLAB Music Collab
As part of my voyage into self-discovery, I create a weekly Meditation from single-feeling word contributions, given to me by strangers on Instagram. I find the process so enlightening, reaching the depths of parts of me that remain hidden until discovered through this process of self-inquiry.
Recently, the phrase “Nostalgic Yellow” was created and I was struck by the feelings coming through from this expression.
Around the same time, Noemi @noemi.creativesouls asked if we might like to produce something together and of course, I said absolutely!
I asked Noemi what she thought of the idea of “Nostalgic Yellow”! The phrase was created through one of my Meditations.
Noemi shared this amazing song idea with me and some truly beautiful lyrics.
When I first heard what Noemi had written, I was immediately struck by the timeless emotion of these ideas…
Like the way love is felt even long after people have gone from our lives…
And so there was a feeling of being somewhere in-between the immediacy of joy and the remembrance of it…
This became the filter through which Noemi’s original idea was fed as I built up the instrumentation to expand on this idea.
We asked Kai @kuusound if she’d like to record Noemi’s original vocals…
All I can say really is that with every soul that touched this project, it became elevated in ways I don’t think any of us individually could have anticipated.
Florida > United Kingdom > Transylvania … there are quite a few miles between us all and yet I feel like we have been so connected by the writing of this song!
Even more special perhaps is the understanding of how this song speaks differently to each of us and yet forms a common understanding.

“I started out on this idea in April 2021 and it immediately had me in a rhythmic trance; I envisioned people dancing around a big bonfire: the sounds remind me of the group Deelite, Bjork, Little Dragon, and stereo lab which is right up my musical alley and I also wanted to stretch my musical mind and have a different sound as a producer; I knew it would need vocals at some point and later all pieces started to align to make it happen.I later found out about Kailani via Bassronin and approached her about collaborating on this and tagged her in the post and she was on board with it. James and Kuu Sound joined forces to write a song for James’ latest book writing project “The Book of Unfinished Feelings”. After a really fascinating chat about emotions and music, James and Kuu swapped a few musical ideas back and forth before landing a shared passion for re-imaging a song that James had written many years prior. It quickly became apparent that the synergy between these two musicians was to create something wholly unexpected, giving rise to a sound that was neither entirely Kuu, nor James, but something new and incredibly emotive. James describes the introduction of Kuu’s vocals as like a key unlocking a whole new identity and presence for the track.*

This is a lovely collaboration between three creatives who are miles apart but brought together by the power of music. Noemi Capote “Mimi”, wrote the lyrics representing a special experience she had with nature spirits. The song was brought to life by someone whose musical flow is as pure as it can be, Bass Ronin. He produced the song and recorded himself singing the ‘Oms’ at the beach in his hometown of Maui, Hawaii. Kuu Sound’s vocals were the perfect fit to take this song to another level of profundity. Bass was kind enough to release the song through his artist channel, and since then, it’s had over 7,000 streams. Grounding My Soul was created to help brighten hearts, awaken the superpower ability to self-heal, and remind us that nature is home.

When we look at the stars, there are so many to count yet they all look beautiful, shining bright. And once in a while one of those stars becomes a shooting star, captivating everyone on its path, filling people with wishes to inspire their hearts to believe in big dreams. Kuu Sound is one blazing shooting star, shining across the world, elevating our Creative Souls with her musical talents and innovative ideas.
Born and raised in Oregon, Kuu Sound is a self-taught Singer-Songwriter, D.J., and Music Producer. She is a beautiful and loving person whose artistic vibes invoke a sense of joy – as if you can reach the state of nirvana. Her spark was ignited at the age of 18, when she began to trust in her creative heart more and more, leading her to become the staggering musician she is today.
In 2020, Kuu Sound created a Fiverr account and offered her services as a music producer. After a month of patiently waiting to receive requests, she began growing, receiving flattering testimonies, helping her to believe in her sublime voice and musical skills, and to keep on. She grew to such an extent, that she had to close out submissions.
Kuu Sound sees her songwriting process as the expression of words into art form, and many sounds influence her music, varying between Deep House Music and Hip-Hop, to mention a few. She has released several singles, and a Down-Tempo Electric Music EP titled, Synesthesia, available on all music streaming platforms. What limits us from shining the light that we already carry within is our opinion of ourselves, and Kuu Sound is here to remind us through her amazing music that we are wonderful people trying our best to live our lives in a world that is complex and challenging.
