CARA RICHARD

CARA RICHARD

When we let our talents speak for us, the world smiles. Creative Soul, Cara, uses her gifts to convey the raw reality of the human experience, revealing hints of fables and life’s lessons in her avant-garde artwork that evokes curiosity and joy.

Native to Port St. Lucie, Florida, Cara is a modern-day artist and graphic designer, specializing in portrait art, semi-realism, and surrealism, ranging from digital to traditional fine art. She’s also an avid D&D player, getting to co-create back-stories and the characters for the campaigns.

Cara loves bringing ideas to life, memorializing special moments, and working with commissions to actualize anyone’s visions, including portraits for couples, animals, families, and more. Her services include commissions, logos, design work, book covers, and murals.

As a kid, Cara was naturally drawn to the creative arts, self-learning how to play the flute and piano, and also joining her school band, earning 1st chair position. Her dad got her a light box for tracing images, becoming fascinated by the possibilities found in drawing. This sparked her interest in art, getting into any art class possible, receiving acclamations from teachers, and becoming clear that she wanted to do just that. Cara got a BA in Graphic Design from Indian River State College in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Some of Cara’s eye-boggling oeuvre includes Spiderman, a stippling piece inspired by nostalgia and grief, expressing that we can’t be put into a mold. Her work includes metaphorical imagery, interpreting life and death, encouraging us to live life to the fullest, as we might get hung up in material things, and the incorporation of skulls in her art is a memento mori– not to be afraid of the unavoidable in life: death.

One of Cara’s beloved artworks received a Silver ADDY American Advertising Award –a typography sketch, inspired by her name. In 2026, Cara had a mini exhibit at the St. Lucie County Fair, as part of the Creative Souls Garden expo.

As the journey of the artist goes with its ups and downs, Cara has struggled with self-doubt for some time. She questioned her worth, afraid of falling short as an artist, but “I figured out that all I wanted to do was bring happiness to the owners of my art,” Cara explains, adding that “we all have something dark, but it doesn’t need to stop us from shining our light or define us as a person.” Cara keeps learning from each experience and growing each step of the way, persevering with a heart full of magical colors.

Keep going no matter what! Push through the bad times, dust yourself off, and keep going.” –Cara

JAHNOI R. SMITH

Jahnoi R. Smith Creative Souls Featured Reel by Noemi Creative Souls

The camera is the pen used to write stories through pictures, and Creative Soul, Jahnoi R. Smith, writes inspiring messages with the lights and shadows beyond the lens. Jahnoi’s photographs surpass the limits abound in colors and speak louder than words.

Born in Jamaica and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Jahnoi is a professional photographer, writer, and artist. His inclination for photography was a mere curiosity in his early days, roaming the streets of Brooklyn, snapping pictures of the crowd. However, he didn’t get serious with photography until years later, making Portraits his specialty.

In 2001, Jahn was diagnosed with kidney failure and moved to Boynton Beach, Florida, to get on the waiting list for a donor. After he got the call to receive his second chance, due to the delicate procedure, and extensive and excruciating recovery care, Jahnoi made Florida his permanent residence. He currently works for the City of West Palm Beach Parks Administration.

After his successful recovery, Jahnoi would go wherever the lens took him. He graduated with a Bachelor’s in Studio Art from Florida Atlantic University and started working on creative projects. “I like to take the idea of everyday people, showing the world how people live no matter where they are,” explains Jahn, who takes inspiration from photographers from the 20th century such as Gordon Parks, Peter Lindberg, and Daido Moriyama, narrating stories with pictures.

Jahnoi collaborates with models and artists looking for self-expression, going to venues that suit the story, and evolving through the photo shoot process. He creates characters that portray meaningful concepts, such as “Cammy” and “Agent #6” made with model Sunny Strange

He has worked with organizations like No More Starving Artists, and the City of West Palm Beach, and you may find him at local art events capturing the magic of the moment. One snap at a time, Jahn reminds us that nothing can take away our unique perspective in life. We just need to use it for something greater and better.

A picture can be interpreted in a million ways, yet the person holding the camera knows the meaning behind the flash and the story they want to tell. Jahnoi’s photography storytelling is a must-read.

CADE MidMindArts

Cade is a musician, artist, and comedian at heart from Arizona. No matter which art form he delves into, Cade enjoys using these venues for self-expression.

Cities with sunset-sparkling skies. Train Stations full of alluring mystery. Cozy living room spaces making time stand still. Lighthouses set amid breathtaking settings… Cade’s art takes us to a unique dimension where fantasy is a dream come true, prompting the mind to undress and simply relax.

I got into art mainly because I wanted to express what I feel in my head, and also create stories to go with music. With being obsessed with Studio Ghibli as a kid, I fell in love with the way Miyazaki can capture so much emotion in such a simple scene. It always inspired me to try and create the places I’ve always wanted to visit in the same manner, simple yet extraordinary…”

Under the alias Mid Mind Arts, each neon-pastel-color piece awakens a nostalgic sense of belonging, softly inviting us to surrender to the endless possibilities that abound in the present moment. Cade also writes profound statements with encouraging and intriguing words, enhancing the experience found through his mystifying art.

“Sometimes the best way to navigate the chaos is to not take life too seriously and find joy in the little things. Do stuff that brings you out of your comfort zone, you may find what you’re looking for in a place you’d never expect.” -Cade

CREATIVE BUBBLE

Cover for Issue 2 of the Creative Souls Gazette

My vision behind the piece I created for the gazette was inspired by what you told me and how you went through hard times. With the lotus being the symbol of your platform I wanted to capture it wrapped in gold. The lotus flower is a symbol of strength and rebirth, and gold is a symbol of success and achievement. Though you have been through hard times you have remained strong, like the lotus flower you have risen from the mud and still bloom every day. May the future bring you the best success! Pressure creates diamonds.” Cade

CHRISTINA THOMAS TAYLOR

CHRISTINA THOMAS TAYLOR

At times, we need to prioritize our responsibilities and relationships over our creative dreams, and it may feel as if a light has gone out and a part of us is missing. Then, come other times when we are ready to replace, remake, restart, and go after our biggest passions with all we have. Creative Soul, Christina, has walked the artist road, sacrificing her desires to nurture other parts of her life, but ultimately, being reunited with her dreams, filling the world with creative love.

Christina Thomas Taylor is an artist, music producer, songwriter, and composer from Boston, under the pen name Octoberture. Her love for music began when she was just a child, begging her mom for piano lessons and instantaneously becoming best friends with this majestic instrument. “It heard all of my sad stories,” Christina shares how she became intimate with the piano, learning classical music in the process. She was also part of her school’s chorus and vocal jazz ensemble, and at the age of 22 after learning the guitar the songwriter in her was born.

Christina is also now in an acoustic duo band, North Woods, with her friend Sherry Aviles, playing at local venues with several tracks available to stream everywhere.

Music stretched her senses as a songwriter and she knew it would be an important part of her life’s journey, but love and family awaited her and after meeting her husband, Christina explains with a soft smile that she became too happy to write any songs, although she continued to play on her own. 20 years passed, kids, different jobs, and other life changes put her music career on pause. Christina took on painting and fixing up old houses, theater, poetry, photography, and dancing, and she even started a few businesses along the way. Christina loves doing anything that allows her to express her creativity freely.

After starting to play music again with friends in a band called Blue Amber she started writing songs again. This group eventually whittled down to North Woods. When the pandemic hit and her plans to open a business seemed unfeasible, she learned that there may be a career in music after all, joining a music academy and learning about the music business and music production. “Music feeds my soul more than anything else. It has taken over my life now”. Christina shares that even though she ventured on different paths, she has now solidified her career as a musician and she’s working arduously to make her dreams come true.

As a Music Producer, Christina’s potential has expanded greatly.  “My goal in life was always to make the world a more beautiful place in everything I do, but now with music production I have upped my game. I want to create magic!” She describes how music production allows her to bring music to life the way she has always heard in her head, making listeners feel as if they are part of the journey with her unique sounds. I want to take listeners to a different place, a different immersive world that we can travel through together”. She finds her writing inspiration in the natural world, in psychology and the mind, the nature of reality, and relationships.

In just 2 ½ years, Christina has released over 23 songs solo and with talented collaborators from all over the world, all produced by her in her tiny home studio. Her genre is hard to define but tends to fall into the categories of chamber pop and indie pop being haunting and atmospheric as well as some songs that are fun and quirky. Among the many beautiful songs in her catalog are the spooky “You Can’t Hide” featuring rapper TY Avery, “Secrets,” one of her favorites in which she uses samples of her vocals to create instruments, and “Snow & Fire,” written during the lowest point of the pandemic, with a twist of optimism, finding a spark in the fire within us all.

Christina’s main focus is the world of music synchronization (T.V. and film), focusing the first two years post-COVID on building her catalog, learning production and honing in on her sound, and in the last year, she’s been pitching music for briefs for film, T.V., commercials, video games, and more. She’s also studying to become a Master Engineer, and she has been collaborating with other musicians, digging deep into songwriting, and creating new sounds that people haven’t heard before.

Bewitching anyone with her curious and allegoric melodies, Christina is an example that even if we steer away from our true passions, in due time, we get reconnected with our life force. Once we do, the rays of light appear and we can start creating real magic, as Christina has been doing hand in hand with her greatest love, music.

Dig deep within yourself to find that creativity you know you have .. we can use it for everything. Think outside the box and go back to the openness you had when you were a child. Be as bold as you can dare to be… allowing that creativity – to go even further.” – Christina Taylor
